Cruise phase - day 3 and 4

I didn't have time to write yesterday so I'm gonna sum up both days into one post although one of them is PV and the other is PP..

Like every morning after finishing in the washroom I jump onto my scale to measure my progress. Although I feel that I lose weight my scale is all messed up and showing different amounts so I decided not to take it personal, I'm gonna go to my doctors office and measure myself on the scale that is 100% accurate :)

For breakfast on PV day I made a delicious oat bran gallete and I served it with fresh arugula, sour cream, slices of dried beef and tomatoes. The recipe for galette is next: 2 TBSP of oat bran mixed with 2 TBSP of non fat Greek yogurt and heated in microwave for 20 sec. In a separate bowl beat 1 egg white until foamy and then combine it with oat barn yogurt mixture. Add some salt and pepper or sweetener if you prefer sweet galette and bake it on medium heat in a non stick pan for 5 min and then turn it over with large spatula and continue cooking for another 5 min

On the next PP day, I made the same galette but I ate it only with sour cream and dried beef.

On PV day I made a casserole or something like that. In a non stick frying pan with couple of sprays of canola oil (I found that it was the best to use non stick oil spray for frying) I sauted 1 onion, 1 red pepper, 200 gr of lean ground beef and 3 tomatoes with skin peeled off. mmmm, delicious! Arugula on the side and it was a perfect lunch and becuase I made lots of it it was my dinner as well. :)

On PP day I prepared delicious meal for the whole family! 2 large sea brass cooked in oven for 30 min with lemon slices, parsley, onions and seasoned with salt. My toddlers, age 3and a half and one and a half were very hungry and they loved the fish so I ended up with just tasting it! :) It's good that I bought some mussels and my new lunch - dinner was ready in no time.

The mussels are easy to make, just put in one cup of water, some onions, parsley, bay leaves, 1/2 cup of whit wine (tolerated for cooking cause it evaporates), cook until mussels open, stir occasionally and they are ready in 5-7 min, don't overcook them !!!!

Sauce was made of balsamico vinegar, dijon mustard and non fat Greek yogurt. Delicious !!!

And that's it! I felt no hunger, my energy was high and motivation great!
I started working out a little bit to get in shape and I started to apply anti-cellulate cream before I go to bed, my hips and tighs are sinply horrible.
Remember to drink lots and lots of water, herbal tea because it's essential !!! Although Coca Cola Zero is tolerated I choose not to drink it because of the artificial sweetener and it tastes so bad in my opinion :)
So long !

Cruise phase - day 2

When I received my instructions for today I was a little bit surprised to see that today is my PP day again.. :( That's what happens when you don't read the book carefully before you choose to start your diet. Anyway, it says in my report that the best way for me to loose those 12 kg is to have the next schedule in my cruise phase: 1 day PP and next one PV. It sounds hard but when you think about it it's not bad , one day you eat PP but you are looking forward to the next one when you can eat vegetables again :) In his book Dukan wrote that ratio 1:1 is better than 5:5 although the other one gives better results, but his study showed that people are having more trouble when they are on 5:5 ratio because they have the tendency of making mistakes and they are more likely to give in to cravings. 5 days is a long time for me to be only on proteins so I'm gonna do it the way I got my instructions.

I measure myself every morning before breakfast. My scale is horrible, it shows different weight in different parts of the house. :( I know that I should stick to one place but I have to hide it in the closet because my kids love playing with it and then when I take it out, even the smallest change in place is showing different amounts. I would like that I don't have to measure myself every day but in order to submit my daily report on Dukan's website I have to do it. So, this morning, scale showed that I gained 1 kg, so I was on 71 kg. I didn't feel discouraged because I read in the book that it is normal after PV day. In the long run, weight loss is gonna be obvious. And I felt great, I had a lot of energy, by headache completely stopped and I knew that I was on the right track. Clothes already started to fit better so it all proved me that this diet works! And best part of it - I'm never hungry!

For breakfast I made tuna salad. One can of tuna, 1 TBSP Dijon mustard, 3 TBSP Greek yogurt, 1 hard boiled egg all mixed. It has a great taste and doesn't leave you feeling hungry!

Lunch was yummy! Rainbow trout fillet with white dressing: 1 TBSP Dijon mustard, 1 TBSP balsamico vinegar, 3 TBSP Sour cream (0% fat of course), 2 cloves of garlic and dill. I marinated trout with parsley, garlic and 1 TBSP of olive oil and seasoned it with salt and pepper. The taste was amazing, I couldn't stop eating! :)

Because the fillet was big I left some of it for dinner and that was it, my PP day was over and I didn't break any rules! Lots of watter, two cups of black Indian tea and some exercise. That's what's it all about.

Tomorrow is PV day and I can't wait to try out some new recipes, Dukan's bread looks amazing and lean ground beef in tomato sauce with some vegetables are one of the choices and I still have 2 bowls of that delicious chicken soup! Until tomorrow, bye bye!

Cruise phase day 1

So, it's much easier since I started phase 2 of the Dukan diet and finally got to eat vegetabals. First 3 days of PP (pure protein) were hard, especially the first day when I had trouble with severe hedache, nausea and feeling very week. But it's normal to feel like that when you are withdrawing from carbs and I was a carb person! I couldn't survive a day if I didn't put a little bit of bread, pastry, pasta or sweets in my mouth. But it all got out of control and I had to do something because I was not feeling well in my body. Anyway, day 4. was great, the scale showed 2 kg less and I was very encoureged and optimistic about my diet.

For breakfast I had stuffed tomato with tuna, green onions, Greek yogurt and arugula. On the side a bit of Greek yogurt with green onions and a little bit of arugula. It tastes great and it keeps you satisfied for couple of hours for sure.

For lunch I prepared chicken vegetable soup. I put 2 chicken breasts, (around 400 gr), 2 pieces of parsnip, 2 large carrots, 2 celery stalks, 1 onion and when the meat was tender and carrots soft I put about 10 cloves of broccoli. It was enough for 4 large bowls but I left half of it in the fridge for my other PV day because it's still gonna be good and I didn't have to worry about what to have for lunch. :)  I put vegetables, meat and a bit of soup in blender, mixed it, poured more soup in it, 2 TBSP of non-fat sour cream and lemon juice (1/2 of lemon). It was delicious! I ate another plate in couple of hours so I only had to"worry" about dinner.

While I was looking through the recipes on Dukan's website and on couple of forums I wanted to try and make sweet crepes. :) It was not bad, but next time I'm gonna try other recipe. This one is made with 2 TBSP of oat bran, 1 TBSP of wheat bran, 1 egg, 6 TBSP of skim milk and a little bit of Stevia granulate sugar. You bake it in a non-stick frying pan with 2-3 drops of olive oil. It's better to leave the brans to soak the fluids before you put egg in it and then bake it. Use the wide spatula to turn it on the other side and be careful cause it's not as firm as regular crepes. For the spread for crepe I made Dukan chocolate hazelnut spread (I call it Dukan nutella). It's super easy to make. Put 1 egg yolk, 1 TBSP of low fat, no sugar cocoa powder, 1 TBSP of Greek yogurt and 2 TBSP of granulated sweetener (I use Stevia), couple of drops of hazelnut aroma.

And that's it! The day was over! I felt good, no headache, no nausea, satisfied and already looking better, my stomach was not bloated as it used to be, I had more energy and most important I had the strength to continue.

The most important think is to drink lots and lots of water! 1,5 - 2 l per day is essential! And you can drink herbal teas as much as you want. I found out that I like black Indian tea with a bit of skim milk and stevia sweetener. I drink two cups of it during the day and it replaces the coffee that I'm not having now although it's allowed. I drink one cup first thing when I wake up and another one in the afternoon.
